Potsdam's old downtown – including Sans-Souci Park

With this tour you get a comprehensive overview of Potsdam's sights. Your tour starts on the Old Market Square where you see Nicholas Church, the Fortuna Gate and the Pleasure Garden. Passing by the former Royal Stables, the only remnant of Potsdam's city castle, you get to the New Market Square with its previous Royal Coach Stables. Down narrow lanes, past the City Canal, once realized according to a Dutch model, you arrive in a city area with baroque residential buildings and Potsdam's shopping street now appearing in new splendour. Behind the Brandenburg Gate designed in shape of a Roman triumphal arch is located the marvellous Louise Square. Passing the romantic architecture ensemble, composed of the Church of Peace with its cloister, the peristyle and the mausoleum, you continue through the park to the vineyard terraces. There you see the tomb of Frederick II., his Sans-Souci castle and the Historic Mill.
